Welcome to the Nuts for Life Information Centre

We're going nuts about nuts and why shouldn't we when there is a large body of evidence proving that eating nuts is beneficial for health and wellbeing.

This site aims to educate lovers of nuts about the latest scientific findings on nuts and their role in nutrition and health.

All you need is a small handful of nuts most days a week.

So get cracking and enjoy nuts today.

Nuts are an excellent source of protein, and are rich in dietary fibre and antioxidants. Studies have shown that women who eat a small handful of nuts regularly as part of a weight management diet are 40 percent less likely to contract heart disease.
You will never see cashews sold in the shell. The nut is surrounded by a double shell that contains a caustic phenolic resin, urushiol, a potent skin irritant and toxin also found in poison ivy.
